Here are some tips to maintain your hair healthy: Eat plenty of protein containing foods, fresh fruits and vegetables. Wash hair once a week with shampoo. Have hair trimmed every four or five weeks to get rid of split ends and have hair styled. Do not brush hair when it is wet but use smooth edged, wide tooth comb. Do massaging to increase the blood circulation and the blood supply to the root hairs. But massaging is not required for oily hair. Since roots of the hair produce sebum, they get enough conditioning. Hence conditioner is to be applied only at the ends of long hair. Use a conditioner on the damaged hair or rub in warm olive oil or wax cream, and then wrap the head with polythene bag. Tie it with scarf and leave as long you can- if possible overnight. Henna treatment restores the shine to the dull hair.

Massaging should be done in a sequence and in proper direction for effective result. It should be done in the following order: Get ready by applying cream to the face to work on. Start with forehead. With the help of finger tips make lateral movement on the area to meet the problem of wrinkles. Next comes the T- junction point where extra flesh deposits which spoils the shape of the nose and eyes. Rub this area in up and down directions. Now come down to cheek’s smiling zone line zone and massage it with thumbs working downward as well as outward. For proper care of the upper lip portion, which adds extra charm to your smile, massage it with fingers outwards. To avoid forming of wrinkles and dark circles below the eyes massage this area with the thumbs. Next massage the upper eye lids. Do not give much pressure on this area. Movement should be provided from inside to outside. For giving beautiful shape to cheeks, massage the cheeks in upward and outward position alternatively. Then massage the upper jaw muscles and next the lower jaw muscles with tolerable pressure in upward outside direction. For shaping of the chin, hold the chin in two fingers and drain out lightly towards the ear zone. Repeat it for 25 to 30 times to tighten the tissues and draining out the extra flesh.

For finding out the hair type with the help of tissue paper test one can follow below mentioned steps: Wash the hair with shampoo a day before. Take a tissue paper and press it on the centre of the head and behind the ears. If oil is found in the tissue paper it means the tested hair is oily hair otherwise it is dry. Here it is important that one should not rub the tissue paper on the head instead press it. A tissue paper test combined with a careful look at the hair can also tell the type of the hair. Usually normal skinned persons have normal hair. Dry skinned persons have dry hair and same with the case of oily persons too. If one has oily head and dry ends then you have a combination hair. Having been armed with the knowledge of particular hair type one may take treatment accordingly.
