FACE PACKS

Face packs which have the quality of rubbing or scrubbing the skin are called face scrubs. By scrubbing they bring blood to the surface of the skin, remove dead cells, smooth and clean the skin. Face scrub do wonders to the spotty and sluggish looking skin. The best way to use the scrub is to spread it over the face with finger tips. When it is slightly dry remove it by scrubbing. Afterwards wash it off with lukewarm water. Preparation of egg face scrub can be as follows. Egg yolk – 1egg, Almond oil – 2tsp, Dry skimmed milk – 2tbsp and Camphor lotion – 5drops.Beat the egg yolk and add oil to it. Then beat again and add the milk and camphor lotion to it. Mix all ingredients well and get a fine paste. Apply the paste on the face and leave it to dry. When it is slightly, wash off with lukewarm water followed by cold water rinse.

REDUCE FACIAL HAIR

To look and feel smooth and silky one must do away with unwanted hair because hair can pose one of the most embarrassing beauty problems. Here are some of the tips:

Plucking is the most suitable method for removing the isolated hair on the chin. Do not try to pluck out hair above the upper lip because if done it will make the face sore.

Beaching is good for very fine, downy hair on the face. While bleaching, protect the surrounding skin with a tissue paper. To make one’s own bleaching solution, mix water with very mild solution of hydrogen per oxide. Wet a dab and dry it on the back of the hand first. If it suits it can be applied on the face. Electrolysis can also be done. It is the method of cauterizing the hair root with tiny electric shock. But it is very costly method of removing hair. It can be done only by the specialist.

BLACKHEADS AND ACNE SOLUTIONS

Blackheads are formed when the oil collects and hardens in the pores of the skin. Oily skin not only attracts the dirt but also continually sheds the dead cells. Dirt, oil, sweat and stale make-up tend to clog and block the pores. These pores turn black and are called Blackheads. Owing to blackheads the pores get blocked and oil glands get infected resulting in pimples. If the infection progresses, it ruptures the mechanism of oil glands and attacks the inner layer of the skin giving rise to acne prone condition. When you have blackheads wash the face quite often, say 4-5 times in a day. Never try to prick the pimples, because doing so results in black spots.

Avoid food which causes constipation and other disorders of the stomach. Boil 50gm of brooklime leaves in 500ml of distilled water. Keep the mixture for 2 hours and strain it. Mix ½ tsp of sodium benzoate in the mixture and apply it on the affected parts.

BODY MASSAGE

Body massage sequence is made up of seven distinct areas – two on the back of the body, five on the front.

Back of the body:

Massage your back first, working first on the whole upper areas and then concentrating on the smaller parts in turn including shoulders, upper back, spine and so.

Back of the legs:

First work up the leg draining it, then knead the way down and finally massage the foot.

Front of the body:

Start with shoulder and work on the front and back at the same time. Include neck along with the shoulder by turning the head to one side. Now massage the face starting from forehead and down to the chin. Each arm is massaged. It starts from the limb draining it and then the wrist and hand. After focusing on the rib cage and sides of torso move down to abdomen and then belly in sweeping strokes. Now on the legs each separately and drain it. Circle the knee cap and travel down and end with feet.

CRACKING OF FEET SOLES

Cracking of feet soles takes place due to heat in the environment and the body. This gives rise to cracking of the heels and the areas between toes and fingers. To cure this, apply any under mentioned remedies: The oil obtained from the shell of cashew nut is applied on the cracks. This soothes the sole very quickly. The soles of the feet are massaged with sesame oil and feet are fomented by keeping them in warm water. The juice of unripe mango/ mango leaves or gums collected from the stem of the tree is an effective dressing for cracks on the holes. It is normal that when the crack dries the heels harden up. This can be removed by using scrubber. Scrubbing has to be done twice a day until the heels become soft. To maintain the softness keep your foot clean and wash it regularly. It is always good to keep your feet clean always.

FEET CARE

A regular care of the feet at least once in fifteen days should be taken to beautify them. Proper caring of the feet has been illustrated below: Remove the old nail polish with nail polish remover in which 4-5 drops of oil are added. File the nails with emery board. Dip the feet in shampoo mixed lukewarm water and keep them for at least 10 minutes. Water should be half the bucket so that it touches the middle of legs. With the help of tooth brush clean the nails as well as feet completely. Clear the dead skin from the feet with the help of pumice stone. Or use scrubber. Apply the cream on the nails and their sides to soften them for further cleaning and finishing. Remove the dirt particles from the corners of the nails with pin nail scrubber. Stretch the thumbs and fingers of your feet with hand for free movements and relaxation Massage the lower and upper portion of the feet by applying pressure in outwards direction.The radio staggers against the backspace!

BODY EXCERCISE

Perform each exercise one after another without any pause. This helps in the simulation of blood circulation which will induce rapid results. Do not exercise in cool room. The temperature of the room should be at least 74 degree Celsius. Breathe normally and fully. While exercising breathe in air as much as you can. While exercising concentrate only on what you are doing and it yields good results. Do not rush through the exercises. Take each one slowly. Control each movement as it can strain your muscles. Always be graceful. Concentrate on the movements and muscles involved. This is the key to figure-shaping and improvement. If you feel a little stiff after the exercise, it is good. It means your muscles are being worked up and you are benefiting from the exercise. The stiffness will disappear after a few days. Be patient with your exercise routine. MAKE USE OF DAILY FRUITS

Orange: Collect orange peels and dry them in sun. Grind and them use as a facial pack. They are extremely useful for toning the skin. Soak the orange peels in boiling water and let it stand overnight. Strain in the morning and can be used as a cleanser.

Carrot: carrots are rich source of vitamin A and are used as one of the important ingredients for nourishing creams and face packs. Add milk or cream to the juice of carrot and apply it before bathing. A paste of milk and carrot is very useful for removing the swelling around the eyes.

Rose: Rose petals are used to make rose water which is an ideal for skin tonics. It softens the coarse skin and closes the enlarged pores. It is used in lotions, creams and face pack for soothing action.

Tea: Soak cotton wool pads in cold tea and use them as eye pads to refresh the tired eyes.

Salt: Bathing the eyes in warm water to which a little salt has been added can really brighten them up.

SAY GOOD BYE TO DANDRUFF

Problem of Dandruff is due to variety of reasons, for example poor blood circulation in the head, use of harsh shampoos and so. To deal with this problem follow under mentioned tips: Check the production of sebum by regular washing of hair. Wash the hair twice a week. Prior to shampooing soak a pad of cotton in witch hazel extract and apply on the head along partings if the root is excessively greasy. After shampooing use conditioner on the ends only.

Anti-Dandruff lemon preparation:

Ingredients: Lemon juice – 8tbsp and water 1 1/2cup. Mix both the ingredients together and apply it on the head. Leave it on for 2-3 hours then wash off. This treats the dandruff miraculously.

Anti dandruff egg preparation:

Ingredients: Egg white – 1egg and lemon juice – 1tbsp.Beat the white and mix lemon to it.  Apply it and leave to soak for about an hour before washing the hair with shampoo.

MAINTAIN YOUR HAIR REGULARLY

Here are some tips to maintain your hair healthy: Eat plenty of protein containing foods, fresh fruits and vegetables. Wash hair once a week with shampoo. Have hair trimmed every four or five weeks to get rid of split ends and have hair styled. Do not brush hair when it is wet but use smooth edged, wide tooth comb. Do massaging to increase the blood circulation and the blood supply to the root hairs. But massaging is not required for oily hair. Since roots of the hair produce sebum, they get enough conditioning. Hence conditioner is to be applied only at the ends of long hair. Use a conditioner on the damaged hair or rub in warm olive oil or wax cream, and then wrap the head with polythene bag. Tie it with scarf and leave as long you can- if possible overnight. Henna treatment restores the shine to the dull hair.
